1. The evolution of one’s career is always interesting to me. Sounds come and come in and out. Problems go away and new ones pop up. Has the process become harder or easier since you started?/
I think that in some ways, it’s harder to keep up with how fast paced the internet makes hype bans. The turnover of music is also quite fast, so things remain new for much less time. I try not to pay attention to this or let it bother me. I would rather have quality than quantity, and to make things for the right reasons. 2. I still remember, the first magazine that made an impression on me as a kid I used to buy Guitar Player magazines and learn the songs in the back. It was always a GnR song or some Ozzy , and I was always very excited for the new issues. 3. My high school years involved a lot of hanging out in my basement painting and listening to cassette tape mixes. I was very dedicated to my fine art, guitar playing.

4. Now I get to work with Well, I’m very excited to go to NYC this weekend to jam with Jim White, who’s an incredible drummer and has played in the Dirty Three (one of my favorite bands that I listened to all the way back in high school painting) Nick Cave, Cat Power.) That will be really fun just to hang out and play music. I’m pretty over the moon with working with both of my new record labels as well. (Bella Union- run by Simon Raymonde from the incredible Cocteau Twins and home to Beach House and a ton of awesome bands…. and Sacred Bones, run by Caleb and Taylor, who are amazing, and home to David Lynch, Jim Jarmusc and Jozef Van Wissem , Zola Jesus, Amen Dunes.. I’m just really excited about things lately. 5. I have a crush on Oh god.. lot’s of people… so many that I’m drawing a blank. I wouldn’t list anyone I know in real life ..  . I think it’s normal and it’s ok to have an active fantasy life. So, I have to pick someone I don’t know.. Louie CK.. Humor beats everything in the universe… especially dark fucked up humor. It wins. 6. I now live in ? Jamaica Plain, in Boston. 7. In an industry were people seem to be made malleable you stick to who you are . Does your up bringing have something to do with that? I feel like I know what I like and I just try not to pay too much attention to anything else. I try to just stick to my guns. More and more and more, I’m better at trusting my instincts and creating for purity and purity alone.

8. What do you think about social media ? Over saturation or an outlet?   A little of both. I do think it’s a great way to make connections with other artists and musicians, and to get my own music out in more places. But, I would hate to think of the social media interactions replacing actual human interactions. For instance, there’s nothing wrong with having a nice phone chat with someone, and I lot more meaningful than a fb chat. 9 . If you had to compare yourself to a women in the past who would it be? There are no women I would really “compare myself to” in that I think I’m similar, because how do I really know that. But, some of my favorite female artists from the past are Camille Claudel, Emily Dickinson, Anne Sexton, Frida Khalo. I could go on 10. If you could leave us with one thought, what would it be? Check out my new record, JULY.. and these upcoming tour dates
