1. So where did this fascination with swim wear come from? Did you just grow up on the beach?
I Grew up close to the beach, playing mermaids in the pool and lot's of family road trips up and down the Cali coast. Must have started so early, I don't remember ever not loving swimwear. It's in the blood. I still have a little knit bikini saved from when I was like, one. 2. I still remember, the first magazine that made an impression on me as a kid Seventeen mag filled with Niki and Krissy Taylor. Surfer mags and then came Sports Illi Swim. 3. My high school years involved a lot of girls. I went to an all girls high school, uniforms, lot's of shopping at the Malibu Country Mart and tons of crushes on surfers boys. Pretty wholesome.
4. Now I get to work with bikinis from all around the world and creative collectives like "Volcomunity." My "offices" have been in some pretty gorgeous places 5. I have a crush on A.A. Bondy. I get lot's of crushes, but that's for this month. And my merman 6. I now live in San Diegz. 7. People think this of me: That I'm still a kid.
8. Tell us a little more about the thought process behind bathing news.. I love the sea, beautiful magical places and moments, and spreading my love for life while wearing what I love, bikinis. Swimwear represents the best times to me: traveling to the most unreal places, hanging out with friends and family, sun, eating watermelon and pop-sicles, while listening to guitar. The blog is like a little getaway while also encouraging living in the moment, and truly doing what you love. Keeping everyone in the swim loop from up and coming designers to the oldies but goodies, reviewing what stands out to me as that designers specific touch and really appreciating who steps it up with their own creativity. You can find lot's of high fashion mermaids in these three piece triangles on my blog too ;) I'm really enjoying helping connect up different areas of the swimwear industry throughout the world (from Istanbul to Rio). 9. Do you work out? If so can you help me out?? The last 9 months in Costa Rica were great...beach walks good for the bum, Pilates in the jungle, good for the soul and core, and ocean swims with my fins on. At the gym I try to make it a spa experience so it's a little more enjoyable. Steam room for sure and water with lemons in it. Mat Pilates 2 x's a week and I try 20 min jogs 2 x's a week. Yes, I can help you, If u come to San Diegz I'll take u on the Stand Up Paddle for a good workout! I'm not that athletic really, I just look it I guess. I'm just genetically pretty thin and can easily end up looking like Lou Ferrigno if I work out too much. I eat healthy (I'm eating In-n-Out while typing). I don't drink much alcohol. I don't deprive myself of ice-cream, cookies and chocolate. 10. If you could leave us with one thought, what would it be? Gratitude.
